Multilanguage shop not able to translate strings... why?

Setting up a multilanguage VM2.

Using VM2 2.0.22 and Joomla 2.5.14.

I have enabled Language filter plugin and language switcher module and admin site Multilanguage site plugin (which shows green in all points).

I have installed to Joomla and to VM2 a second language (Finnish).

When going to categories and products I see the dropdown option to choose a language. When I choose English there is no language-flags visible and if I change the strings into English the original language strings change (also the Finnish). In the Finnish side the flags are visible, but again if I change something it affects both sides.

The Finnish flag comes only after I've first chosen the english language (in a product or category) and then again chosen the Finnish language. But only then! If I only choose English I never get the English flag visible.

I have both languages mentioned both in Settings and in Shop details.

What am I missing?

I have the same problem with the same version of virtuemart and joomla, anyone have any idea?
