Overwrite plugin values of the parent - children disapear form the dropdown

I had this posted in the "product creation" section before, but I think it actually might be a bug report ?

basically loosing the children in the front-end drowdown once I choose the "Overwrite plugin values of the parent" and add a cart variant to child. See screens below .. thanks

So ... I did find some time to read through various posts, there were 2 with the same problem, but they got no response. well, I hope I get one, otherwise I have now idea what to do.

In case I overcomplicated my description ... here again the short version.

Parent -> Children as generic child variant.
Everything works fine up to this point.

The moment I want to add another cart variant for a child and I select to "Overwrite plugin values of the parent" suddenly for that child I loose all the other children in the front end dropdown (screens below). I checked the settings, don´t see anything wrong.

Yepp, you must always override all customfields of a children. In fact we just work on this for the version 2.1, still wip but in the trunk now.

thanks for the response ... I would love to overwrite ... but it´s not working.

The overwrite of the "cart variants" works, but I do loose the children as an option in the generic-children-variant-dropdown (front-end) ... so it´s not working. Screen02 above shows the parent "100% Whey - 59.90 CHF". Below the child with the additional cart variant, so the overwriten produt, "100 % Whey 2390 g - 109.90 CHF". Once I select it, all the other children disapear from the dropdown (the generic child variant dropdown).

Milbo -> ich glaube Du hast meine Schilderung falsch verstanden. Der "overwrite" der custom fields (in meinem Falle cart variants) funktioniert, aber ich "verliere" die children als Option im Front-end. Im Screen02 oben siehst Du das die Auswahl im generic-child-variant Dropdown dann leer ist. Alles überprüft, geht nicht.

Yesterday I tried the "Overwrite plugin values of the parent" option checked and the child product all of sudden disappeared from the drop down list.
My Virtuemart version is 2.6.10 and this topic is from 2013.... Still no fix for this issue??

Okey, first we do NOT delete old posts. So you you may find this post also in ten years. Second I state clearly that this is solved in vm3. And cant be solved in vm2, if you solve it, you get vm3 again.
