VM 2.0.4 -> 2.0.22a - Exception in loadConfig for unserialize hidemainmenu b:0;

After updating from VM 2.0.4 to 2.0.22a on Joomla 2.5.11 I get this message anywhere in the shop: (FE & BE, guests/logged in users/ admins)

        Exception in loadConfig for unserialize hidemainmenu b:0;
        To avoid this message, enter your virtuemart config and just save it one time

Using the update config from file and reinstalling VM via the extension manager does not solve it. Actually the installer also gives this message. (I of course obeyed the recommendation)

BTW: when I use tool for update config from file, the error is gone, until I change anything in the configuration and save.

How can I solve this?

For now I just removed "|hidemainmenu=b:0;" from the config entry in the #_virtuemart_configs table.

It removes the message, but after saving any changes from the config, it reappears.

I could hack into the source to remove saving of this setting, but for now I will just remove the entry from the table.
