display child products - virtuemart

Hi there,

I am using joomla2.5 and virtuemart 2.0.22a

I sell painting items. A lot of references in different colors. Stock management is important.
Let say ink, I have serveral colors of ink and variant for each major color :
So I created a category named INK, parent products and sub-category for the major colors (RED ink, BLUE ink) and child products for the variants (dark red ink, light red ink, etc...).

I would like to display the parent product and its color variations on the same page, in a beautiful way, not the default details + list.
I would like to have a main image for the current product (child or parent) and the thumbnails of the other available color variation. A click to a thumbnail will display the image + details of the product (parent or child).

Maybe it is more a problem of finding the right extension for displaying the products the way I want, more thant a parent/child product issue...

Please help !

Catproduct is the right extension.

Dear Maxim,

if I have already set the parent-child products, is it possible to show the child product thumbails without any extension?
