[SOLVED] Limit Box does not show active selection - VM20.0.22a

Just marked this as SOLVED - but in fact it has just gone away!
I am not sure why!  It now works on my live site but not on my test site so I have got something wrong somewhere!
UPDATE Seems to be something to do with SEF URLs - don't know what!

But I do have another problem - see thread 'Limit Box does not work if Initial number of listed items is set'

In a Category Product view the Limit Box in the pagination area does not show the currently select index - it always shows the first index 5.

Even if for example 20 has been selected and 20 products are listed, the limit box displays 5  (or whatever is the first configured index is).

Consequently the first index can never be selected.


In Configuration | Templates I have
Shopfront Settings:
  Default templates
  Default number of products in a row: 1
Set the pagination sequence for the List Box:
  Frontend default items per list view: 10
  For views with 1 item per row:                    ie unset so should default to 5,10,20,50

In each product categoriy settings I have no overrides.
I have tried to leave other settings blank but some now show 0 and I can not reset them empty
  Number of Products per Row: 0
  Category Pagination Sequence:      ie unset
  Initial number of listed items: 0
  Category Template: Use shop default
  Category Browse Page: default
