Product Category Title and Description (BUG)

I had a problem with the Child Product Category Descriptions and Titles not displaying.
(BUG DESCRIPTION)
What I had was a parent category with a child category and then the products in the child category.
My main menu had a link to the parent category which displayed all the child categories but when you selected one of the child categories it wouldn't display the child category title and descriptions
(BUG SOLUTION)
To solve this all I had to do was to add child menu options for each of the child categories to the parent menu option for the parent category.

I am using Joomla 2.5.11 and VM 2.0.20b.

But I was not aware that it has this side effect.
