Different product images for different languages

Hello, how can i  upload different images for different languages? I have Spanish-default and English, but selecting each language when editing images at the product administration results in one image ovewriting the other.

I have J2.5 and VM 20.0.20b

go to your product -> images

add a image for the first language and select the language on the bottom of the image settings

save

add another image for the second language and select the language on the bottom of the image settings

save

Here is what i do:

* I choose Spanish and upload the Spanish image
* Replace thumb with a thumb image for Spanish
* I choose English and upload the English image
* Replace thumb with a thumb image for English

The result is both the Spanish and English thumbs are the same image, looks like the English version overrides the Spanish one.

What am i doing wrong? Thanks again!

That is exactly what i do. My problem is with the thumbnails, i can't get two different thumbnails for each language...they overwrite each other

Each image has one thumb und you can select the language for the image. You need one image for each language and the thumb from this image will also be used. The language setting is for the normal image and his thumb.

It works as each image automatically generates their own thumbnail, but i need a different thumb for each image. Can this be done?

I can replace it without problems. Each image has the right thumb. Maybe if it is only on your product detail site, the shown thumbs are not the thumbnails but the normal resized images. Look with firebug if it is the thumb or the normal image.

When i look at one thumb with Firebug i see this:

Is the resized image then?

Yes it is the thumb.

I don't know what is wrong in your case.

The image language has nothing to do with the language selection on the first tab of product settings. Go to the images tab and there is for each image on the bottom a select box for the language.

Your Example Cruzcampo: Spanish and English have the same big and thumb image ... where is your example with different images?

Yes, I do the language selection in the image tab. I know Spanish and English have the same image...that's my problem, i can't get Spanish and English to have their own corresponding images. When i upload them they ovewrite each other when i upload the second language thumb.

The only thing that works for me is uploading the Spanish image, replacing its thumb and uploading the English image, letting its resized image without replacing it with its corresponding thumb.

I can't see any 404 issues, it works for me. Would you be so kind to point me out where they are?
