Manufacturer Index

I can't seem to find a way to do this in Virtuemart natively unless I'm missing something....but I would like to have an Index for manufacturers and possibly product categories as in the attached mockup screenshot. Can Virtuemart do this or does anyone know of a plugin/extension for Virtuemart to make this possible?

A - is manufacturer category named "A"...
