Hi there,
I am the Super User in Joomla.
I have installed Virtuemart version 2.0.20b. PHP Version 5.4.12. Web Server Microsoft-IIS/8.0.

Under the "Shop" menu -  and under the "Additional Information" Tab - the Vendor text is there but the field is not there, the "Permissions" field is set as "admin" and the Shopper Group is default. Under Shopper Information - my email address and username and displayed name is listed and under the "Bill to" information, my address details are listed.
All good so far. An order has been recieved - and the order was emailed to me. That's fine.
But now I want to change the Vendor details to that of my Clients so that they recieve the orders and not me. If I try and change the Vendor information - I receive the error message "vmError: User name in use".

I have really tried to sift through the forums and looked for Documentation to help me in this - but it is proving hard to do this simple thing. I am obviously missing something. Can someone slowly and simply in a step by step fashion - point out what exactly I need to do.

Thanks in advance for any help in this.

I followed this advice to change the store owner to a user with Administrator privileges. When I go to the Shop page, I still see admin on the additional information page.

All I did was include the userid and click the Set store owner button. Do I need to do something else to get the vendor/store user and information to be a non-super-user?

It worked now, but this might be a minor bug. The first few times that I did it, the only info window displayed on the back end echoed the desired store owner userid I entered (e.g. 121).

When it didn't work, I thought maybe it was the shopper id it wanted, so I put that long string in which, again, displayed just one info box which echoed the number 9 (not a user, but I think the first digit of the string).

After confirming that the shop info did not change under Shop => Additional Information, I went back to migration and changed the store owner to the actual userid desired again (e.g. 121).

This time it displayed two information boxes. The first confirmed the store owner change and the second echoed the userid again. It seems that it did not work until the store owner userid was set to a non-existent user. Then it made the change, and the Shop => Additional Info page reflected that.
