Moving a child product to a different parent

Hi guys, I am hoping there is a simple setting i am missing here but if not this might be worth looking into.

I have just realised that i need to move a bunch of child products from one parent to a newly created parent but cannot see how or where to do this. Is there a functionality built in or available that will allow the selection of the parent product the child is found within? I am trying to keep all child products in check with decent SEF URL's and deletion and recreation of child products like this is a bit clunky still.

In the mysql database find the child products and change the parent id with the new parent id .
Inside virtuemart you can't do it.

Devs, any chance of adding the functionality to do this in the VM backend in future releases as I am certain it would be useful to many.
