AIO component

After installing plug-ins it tells you that you can uninstall it. But after running an update of vm it tells you to use the aio component to upgrade plug-ins.

I had not uninstalled aio so was able to do so... but after running that upgrade it agains tells me I can uninstall. Am I wrong in thinking that is not good advice?

Also....

There is an option on aio component to update plugin tables.... when why is this used?
