Virtuemart disappeared from components dropdown after update to 2.0.20b

Hello there,

After updating from 2.0.18b to 2.0.20b, Virtuemart disappeared from the components dropdown. I saw another post similar to this here, http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=114423.0. Sadly, no solution was posted.

The difference in my update is that I did the following:
1. updated virtuemart first
2. updated virtuemart aio second
3. no virtuemart in the components dropdown
4. restore from backup
5. update only virtuemart
6. click "go to shop" icon after update and it goes to the store - yet, it didn't appear in the components dropdown still even without updating aio.
7. restore from backup
8. think about what to do next

what's weird is that it worked on a test site - just not the live site. ha ha on me.

any thoughts as to why vm would disappear from the components dropdown? or, any thoughts as to where to resolve getting it to show up again?

any assistance is greatly appreciated and i thank you in advance.

thank you, sir! i will check it out and see what can be done. looks like xmap isn't doing a vm plugin anymore so i may have to abandon xmap altogether. will update the post here as to help others when i get it done.
