virtuemart fatal error upgrading from 2.0.12 to 2.0.18a

Hi everyone, when I try to upgrade virtuemart from 2.0.12 to 2.0.18a I  get the error failed copy  "Copia fallida" in spanish and the most worrying thing is that virtuemart disapears form de components menu.
Anybody knows anything about this?

dont use the live update

download the installer.

&& make sure to backup first

That's exactly what I've done first with live update after whith the instaler the results was the same includin uploading to a temp folder and trying to install from there, the same error, and disapear from the pull-down menu  component. Any idea?

have you tried optimizing the database? I clean temp folder?

ALSO:
do you use the akeebah restore points installer?, if so turn it off

yes I've optimized the db and clean all temps.

and no I do'nt use akeebah.

Ok the issue of the drop down menu solved, but it does'n upgrade.

try this on a test domain, or local

unzip the package.

UPLOAD to the site

MAKE sure you put the
admin folder in the administrator
and site folder in the site


then go to tools & migration (install or update tables)

I did not say "install it"

I mean MOVE the files over

then there is no "copy failed"


and make sure to test on a test domain, or backup first
