hi all,

Is there any way to add customer fields as multiselection ? now the dropdown list or radio are both single selection.

Using joomla 2.5.9 + virtuemart 2.0.18a

Hello -

I don't believe you can do this (yet) with native VM2 custom fields. You may want to check out our extension then, because it gives you the ability to use any style of fields supported in one of the best form design components for Joomla, Breezing Forms by Crosstec.

Our Breezing Forms Custom Fields extension offers a viable approach for complex custom fields, as long as you don't need parent/child products or to track stock by each of the options. It does NOT track stock by each option selected.

This extension seamlessly integrates a completely custom Crosstec Breezing Form into the custom field area of a VirtueMart 2 product. Because BreezingForms is a fully featured form development component, this means that you can do all those great things you expect from best selling form design software (including checkboxes),  then use that form as the way to capture product options and attributes for a VM2 product.

If you think this sounds like it might help you, here's a link to our documentation to learn more: http://docs.polishedgeek.com/wiki/display/BFCUSTOM . There's a also a YouTube video there on the doc homepage that explains it a bit more.

You can learn more about the form component our extension integrates here: Crosstec BreezingForms http://crosstec.de/en/extensions/joomla-forms-download.html   (You have to have both VM2 and BreezingForms to use our extension).

The plugin has been vetted by the VirtueMart team and is available for sale on our website or here on VirtueMart.net (http://extensions.virtuemart.net/extensions-virtuemart-2/breezing-forms-custom-fields-plugin-detail)

I'm happy to answer any questions you have. Feel free to pose them in the forum here, or if you would prefer to discuss your requirements more privately, just open a ticket: https://polishedgeek.com/clients/contact.php

really weird design. virtuemart2 can't let the shopper has their coffee with milk and sugar at the same time.  :o

It took me some time to try thins. but still puzzled with  understanding relation between  the Breezing Forms Custom Fields extension and   the Breezing Forms  Pro plugin and Breezing Forms itself.

I'v tried the free version Virtuemart to Breezing Form Plugin PRO + breezingforms backport2  but with no luck . No form's shown in the checkout process. So I still have no idea how it works

Hello -

The older free plugins do not support the advanced custom fields of the newer commercial extension. Basically it allows you to do this:

1) Build a form in Breezing Forms component to capture the info you want from the shopper for the product
2) Use our extension to insert that form into the VM2 product page, using the custom field plugin capabilities
3) Have customers choose the form options when they order a product, and their choices will show up similarly to other custom fields, under the product name, and the price will be adjusted per your form configuration

This video may help explain it better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BMW0F_RIk68

I'm also going to put together some documentation videos next month, walking through the implementation steps, which I think will also be useful to illustrate how it works.

Thank you for your reply.

I have noticied that you have 2 similar products + 1 free product related. To make things done, can they work seperately or have to be used together.

1. Do I have to buy "Breezing Forms Custom Fields for VirtueMart 2" and "VirtueMart Breezing Forms Plugin" together ?
2. Why have to provide Supported Domain before purchase. Does this means what I paid can only be used at ONE domain?
3. Any tutorial video on real virtuemart GUI rather than a PPT liked introduction video ?

again, thank you for your time

Hello - Happy to answer your questions:

1. Do I have to buy "Breezing Forms Custom Fields for VirtueMart 2" and "VirtueMart Breezing Forms Plugin" together ?

>> No, you do not have to buy both. They are separate products that do different types of integration (although all of them work by combining features of Breezing Forms with VM2 - you need to have BOTH of those components for the plugins to work). We have a page in our documentation that helps describe the differences you may find useful: http://docs.polishedgeek.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=3178834

2. Why have to provide Supported Domain before purchase. Does this means what I paid can only be used at ONE domain?

>> The domain you provide is simply to let us know which domain should be related to your account for support. Our product is 100% open source, GPL. You can use it on unlimited domains. We provide technical support for only one domain, however (this is pretty standard for many extensions). You can of course get support during your development and testing cycle for dev sites associated with the domain, that's not a problem.  If you don't want to fill this in yet because you aren't sure what the final domain will be, just enter TBD. We're flexible. :)

3. Any tutorial video on real virtuemart GUI rather than a PPT liked introduction video ?

>> Not yet, but we are working on a live demo site that will have several different types of forms and setup so you can see it in action better soon. :)
I'm also happy to provide a live demo too if you would like to arrange one. Just contact us at https://polishedgeek.com/clients/contact.php and provide some days & times that work for you. We're located in Raleigh, NC, so we're in the Eastern USA timezone.

Lastly, I did want to mention that we have a 14 day refund policy, if you buy one of our extensions and find it doesn't suit your needs, so it's no risk to give one a try and see if it meets your needs.

Thanks for your interest!

Hello - As described on our Docs site here: http://docs.polishedgeek.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=3178834 you would purchase either

a) Our Breezing Forms Custom Fields extension ($59 USD)

OR

b) Our Breezing Forms Plugin PRO ($45 USD)

You do not need to buy both of our Polished Geek extensions UNLESS you need both types of features. Both a & b above require Breezing Forms from Crosstec and of course VM2 to be present and installed to work. As described on the Docs site they serve two very different purposes.

Hope this explanation helps clear up an confusion. Thanks!
