I finally got a working website, upgrading en existing one from a previous VM version.
The website is based on FLEXICONTENT component (used to generate and maintain all the webpages), and it integrates VirtueMart 2 for the requested e-commerce functionality.
A lot of work has been necessary to integrate both the two products, but the final work it's a relatively easy-to-maintain website.
