Related products and attaching documents

VM2.0.16
Converting several sites from VM 1.1.9 to VM2.0.16 we constant stumble in missing features.
Can anyone explain how to append related products or how to attach a document, for instance a manual to a product. Both features are common for a web shop and were available in VM1.1.9
A response from someone of the VM project would be appreciated.

Related products are selected on the Custom Fields tab of the product editor.

thank you for your response.
We couldn't find the 'related products' option due to a faulty translation into Dutch. It was mistranslated to subarticle.
Regarding the PDF attachment, we will try your option for now, but we think it is a essential option for products.
