Newbie - Everything installed, products add, nothing showing??

Hi,

I'm a newbie to Virtuemart (2.0.16 plus Joomla 2.5.8 ) and I have configured the basic settings and added categories and one product in one category to at least
see something on the screen, but nothing is showing up? I've also tried enabling the VM modules but nothing there either.

I know that this is a very basic questions but there seems to no tutorials to take you from the installation to getting your products on screen and using the
modules. The wiki help seems to be for an older version of VM.

Can anyone help me get the products on the front page?

Did you make a Joomla main menu link to the VirtueMart front page layout?

Hi,

I did create a front page menu Item but nothing showed up?

I managed to get categories menu on the left hand side but when you click on a category, the two products in there
do not show up?

Does anyone know of a video tutorial that covers getting the products and features to display rather than just covering the installation?

If I find out how to sort it out I will make a video tutorial for beginnings who are new to this and need some help with the same problem.

Well, thanks to everyone for your help on this forum, NOT!

For any newbie's who are having the same problem, here is what you do:

1) Install Virtuemart (I'm using Joomla 2.5.8 and VM2.0.16)
2) Go to "Main Menu" then "Home" and change the "Menu Item Type" from "Featured Article" and select the Virtuemart "Category Layout" from the list.
3) Refresh your page and you should see the products in the content section
