Migration from GoDaddy to Bluehost

I've managed to transfer my Joomla 2.5/Virtuemart 2.0.14(f) site to Bluehost, but I noticed some odd things in the backend, especially with VM:

Going to Control Panel, the icons that are supposed to be in the Control Panel tab are missing, same for Statistics - how do I recover this information?
The URL under SHOP tab did not change to the new hosting domain name (I had to manually change this) - I have always read that you should shouldn't touch this, but how else was I able to put in the correct URL?
The Vendor information needed to be changed. I couldn't find instructions on this. After spending an hour looking through this forum, apparently I needed to assign a different Vendor (confusing).

I've made sure that the PHP version has been upgraded to ver.3+

Are there any instructions about how to transfer sites successfully or bugs/fixes to look out for when VM sites are being migrated?

I had a book that covered thoroughly how to prepare VM to transfer to other hosting, but obviously I couldn't apply that to VM2, so some thorough instructions would really help me (and I'm sure others).

Thank you.

I always use Akeeba Backup to move sites and have never had an issue with things going missing during the transfer, but then I have never even tried to use NoGodaddy. You should just do the transfer, with Joomla 2.5/VM2 there is no configuration to change, except maybe for the absolute safe path (in VM config/Templates) if the file system is very different.  And I think (hope) you meant PHP5.3+

Thanks, Kelvin.

AkeebaBackup was what I used (I should've mentioned this before). I wound up waiting until VM recached (if there is such a thing) and then the Control Panel and Statistics finally came up.

Yes, I meant PHP 3+ considering all of the modules/components I was using required PHP 3 and higher.

So I take it that there are no instructions on how to transfer a site from one host to another?

I guess I should be taking notes! :)

All the information should be recovered just normal using akeeba, can you check your joomla error log? Can you enable joomla error messages if there is any errors related to PHP?
