New user -
Hi Folks
I have a Fresh install of both Joomla and VM.
I initially kept arriving at the error 'No Shop Currency defined! with the link to the correct page to edit the data. Completed all the fields and could not save.
Checked Vendor status etc. Only 1 Joomla user - admin (Super User).
I then refreshed the tables and installed the sample data.
Whilst I now have a shop - the sample shop - I can't save a single change to the 'Vendor' or 'Additional Information' tabs.
Exhausted all the suggestions I can find.
Could this be a table permission problem?

Thanks
Ross

MySQL Server version: 5.1.65-cll
Joomla 2.5.7
VM 2.0.12f

Nope, no help unfortunately.
Tried a complete re-install and came up with exactly the same issue.
I've exhausted everything I have found on the forum.
Seems a lot of people have had issues similar..

I'm tempted to change the demo tables with my required data but not sure where this might lead further down the track.

What is your PHP version?

Use phpMyAdmin to check table virtuemart_vmusers. To save shop information the Superadmin/Vendor should have a "1" in both virtuemart_vendor_id AND user_is_vendor - no other user should have virtuemart_vendor_id=1

PHP 5.3.18

There is only one user in vmusers.
This entry has a 1 in both Vendor_Id and User_is_vendor. Entry is:

678   1   1   21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3   admin   NULL   NULL   0   0000-00-00 00:00:00   0   2012-10-29 05:02:00   678   0000-00-00 00:00:00   0

Hi Folks,
Getting a little desperate on this one. If I missed something on the Forum that assists I do apologise as I've tried to go through every thread.
Can someone assist?

Any solution on this one rossf?

I've got the same problem also, fresh install of VM2 driving me nuts.

VirtueMart 2.0.14
Joomla 2.5.8
MySQL version 5.1.65-cll
PHP version 5.3.18
Apache version 2.2.23

I just want to change the Additional Informations area for the Shop to the actual owners details (as I'm the developer).

(Actually, I'm doing a dry-run to test how I can change it to another User's details in advance of a site-launch, so things don't "stuff up" at Launch and my email / contacts / etc are still set as the Shop Vendor "Additional Details".

Have also exhausted every topic I can find on the matter and no success.

At the moment I can change (successfully) the Shopper Number / ID under Cpanel > Shop > Shop to whatever I want (eg. another Super User's Shopper ID that is set to Vendor in VM Shoppers) ... but the Additional Informations area always retains my info (the original Super User).

Here is a small sample of the links I've found in relation to this, but with no luck so far:

Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

This one is solved for me.

Here's what I did:

  • I had created a new Super User that I wanted to use as the Vendor
  • Made sure that the new Super User was assigned a Shopping Number/ID in VM2
  • Disabled myself as Vendor (I was the original Super User, and first one to config VM2 ... which kept reverting back to me for Shop Vendor, no matter what I did)
  • Then in VM Cpanel > Shop > Shop > Additional Information I changed the Shopper Number/ID to the new User's one
  • Save

Automagically the subsequent "Additional Informations" area updated to reflect the contact information I had typed for that that User in VM2 (look under Shoppers to see your list of VM Users, there you can modify their contact information --- note changes to Usernames, P/W's and First/Last Names in VM2 "Shoppers" area will actually update in Joomla User Manager --- this is because they are completely linked. So if you think you're going to be able to put in an 'alternate' email in the VM2 Shopper that corresponds to (for example) "user1", that will actually update the email account associated with "user1" in Joomla User Manager.

Hope this helps someone.
