Hi,

after migration seems that that the override rules show always "Apply generic rules". This causes a problem when adding a discount since that discount seems to apply to ALL products. How can I fix from the database so that all products have the setting "Apply no rule"?

Greetings,
Amy

The default setting should definitely be "Apply no rule". I find this "Apply generic rules" very troublesome as a default value. Expecially when  you cannot set a default yourself but it takes all the discounts and makes therefore weired sales-prices. Please change the default as "Apply no rule"!

There is no problem, except that the documentation is lacking some easy examples. I wrote a big explanation already in german and on our tutorial is a small one http://extensions.virtuemart.net/all-tutorials/10-calculation-rules/11-quantity-plugin .

Hi,

What actually "generic rule" does? I have the same problem. I have created my own rules and all works fine then or when "no rule" is set. But when "generic rule" is chosen, price appears wrong AFTER logged in or customer details entered (when buying anonymously). VM 2.0.18c.
What could be wrong?
Thanks

Normally I have just discounts -10%, -20%, (-% Price modifier before tax)etc. or VAT (+%) And they work fine. I noticed that the problem occurs when "State/county" is chosen.

I have all states set to every rule... Should I do something with zones? In the states there is a dropdown menu and it's empty. Also where can I specify ZIPs?

I'm not sure where do you have "Apply generic rules". In products?

I too found it a troublesome to key-in product each time and sometime one might overlook that portion and lead to mistakenly add a discount to a product. Not all of my products have discount. I only offer discount for certain products only thus make the "Apply No Rule" as a default should be into consideration. Was hoping someone can shed some lights here.
