Hi, I have created a custom field and the title gets translated using "http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=96758.0" guide. It´s just OK.

and i can translate the values as well using this "http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=100784.15" the last post.

BUT: When i try to translate customfields type of "Textarea" or "editor" i will just see the used key i.e. COM_VIRTUEMART_ART_LIEFERUMFANG

Please advise

Not shure if I understand your translation problem correcty, but your description looks like you are trying to translate input fields. Textarea and Editor create text input fields into which the customer can type i.e. the text he wants to be printed on a T-Shirt.

Hey thanks for answering. I just can tell you what i wanted  :)

The description field can be translate, but i need more fields like that, so i can do my own layout :) so have a look http://www.harthie.de/en/products/harthie-e-300-1-20-detail. Where the characteristics are, i did it with html code used customfildtyp "editor". I know i can not translate it right now, but when, creating a customfield would have the same translation options as the description field, this would solve my problems and i could have my own layout in different languages.

Get my Idea?

I can see that you have translated your german description into english, but I don't understand what you want to do different. Something like I've described here some time ago? http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=96758.0

Hey JJK,

thanks for answering. What you described in the other Post was very helpful a few weeks ago ;)

but this issue is different.  I translated my shop right now. But i had to create another categorie for the english version. Coz i wasnt able to translate my own custom(html)fields. I try to explain:

The field productdescription is a multilangual field. You are able switch between different languages. But, when you are creating you own custom(hmtL)fields, they arent multilangual fields and you are not able to override them like in your post http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=96758.0

So, if my own customfields, would become a multilangual fields able to switch like the description field - There would be no longer translation problems and you could have you own individual layout!

get it?

Greetings

    Hi guys, morning...

Don´t know if this is the right place to do it, but while changing some of the text, I probably
moved some files from virtuemart and now text is not loading!

http://www2.encinardecabezon.com/index.php/es/tienda-online

I´m checking all the files and folders in filezilla but nothing, I can't find what´s going on! Any
help here? We're launching on monday and I'm freaking out.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like your language file YourJoomlaRootFolder\language\es-ES\es-ES.com_virtuemart.ini is either not loaded or not loaded completely because of one or more mistakes in it. If you switch on Joomla 'Debug language'  in Joomla configuration, it will probably show you some error information.
If you want to change strings in your language files, use Joomla language overrides (copy the keys/string to the language overrides folder). Otherwise your changes will be overwritten next time you update VM2. Also make shure you save your files encoded as utf-8 without BOM, not ASCII!

   Hey, Thanks for your reply!

The thing is that I already tried that, downloading com_virtuemart.ini from Internet, and saving as UFO-8 and doesn´t work.

I can see as you told me that in Joomla configuration > permission directory > I found these files language/en-GB    and language/es-ES
in the non-writtable mod.. Don´t know if this is what is not allowing to load both files.

en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini isn´t working either...

Any idea? I don´t know what else to do!!

  Thanks again...

Which error does Joomla 'Debug language" tell you concerning the missing com_virtuemart.ini files after you enabled it when you view one of your shop pages?

Ok, so I switched looking for language loading errors and I got these files not loading:

**No cargado** means **not loading**

**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/language/es-ES/es-ES.plg_editors_jce.sys.ini
**No cargado** : JROOT/plugins/editors/jce/language/es-ES/es-ES.plg_editors_jce.sys.ini

**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_jaextmanager.sys.ini
**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/components/com_jaextmanager/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_jaextmanager.sys.ini

**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_virtuemart_allinone.sys.ini
**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/components/com_virtuemart_allinone/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_virtuemart_allinone.sys.ini
**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_virtuemart_allinone.sys.ini
**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/components/com_virtuemart_allinone/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_virtuemart_allinone.sys.ini

**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_jce.sys.ini
**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/components/com_jce/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_jce.sys.ini

**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_akeeba.sys.ini
**No cargado** : JROOT/administrator/components/com_akeeba/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_akeeba.sys.ini

Don´t know if com_virtuemart_allinone is the one that´s screwing everything...

Sorry I didn´t understand your link either... my knoweldge of developing are not strong enough..

Oh, by the way, cheking in my compoments / com_virtuemart_allinone, I see this folder is empty!

You´re my only help now, thanks so much!

Very unlikely. I didn't figure out where the ...com_virtuemart_allinone.sys.ini comes from, but it doesn't exist/is not used anymore and therefore can't do any harm.
See here: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=108895.0

If you produced a mistake like in example forgot a quote (") somewhere in your language files when you tried to change it, it may prevent the file from being loaded. Or perhaps you mixed up the frontend en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini and a backend en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini when you moved files (same for your es-ES...).
In your list of 'not loaded' files the frontend en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini is not listed, so apparently Joomla loads it, but maybe the wrong one.

The large backend file should be here:...\administrator\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini
and the smaller frontend file should be here: ...\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini

Original versions of english and spanish language files are here: http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files Just unzip them and copy them into your folders if nothing else helps.

Nice!

Finally I downloaded a new virtuemart zip and moved the english file from components to languages. That was the one that wasn't working
(I tried this before, but I was looking in the wrong file).

What I can´t find is the same folder for spanish language. I found the admin folder file.
I´ll keep searching.

Thanks again for your help!
