Thumnail same image

Joomla 2.5 VirtueMart 2.0.10

When I create image for the product the first one i upload is the main photo then if i upload 3 more i get the thumbnail view yet the first one is the same as the large image.  Is there way to have the thumbnails not be the same as the large image?

How about maybe the file i should be looking at to try and customize?

Have you made sure your image thumbnail settings are correctly set?
