update from 2.0.8a to 2.0.8c product Link in confirmation mail directs to admin!

Dear all

All worked fine while using VM 2.0.8a

I updated to 2.0.8c and following happens:

I use Shipment for Virtual Products.

I also use: one page checkout

Both worked good and also Virtuemart, but since the update to VM 2.0.8c they do not. Therefore i ask the question here:

When customer receives the order confirmation mail and you click on the product link, you will be directed to the admin part of virtuemart and get this error: Fatal Error in maincontroller admin.virtuemart.php: Couldn't find file productdetails. The link which is in that confirmation e.mail is this: http://my testwebsite/administrator/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_category_id=1&virtuemart_product_id=1. If i go to the product itself i see this link:  http://my testwebsite/component/virtuemart/eczeemvrij/het-eczeemvrij-digitaal-plan-detail.html?Itemid=0

second: i use the plugin onepage checkout where you can use a direct link to the checkout with one product added to shopping cart! f.a.: http://my testwebsite/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=cart&add_id=1&qadd=1 This still works in good order. But after changing the status of the order from pending into confirmed or shipped no download link is added in the confirmation e.mail anymore which before with the VM version 2.0.8a worked perfectly. If i put the product myself in the shopping card and check out, then it works in good order.

As these errors occurs since the update i hope you can help me. Otherwise i have to start all over again

Hi I'm just wondering if when you ordered the products you were - registered in the shop. And later when you tested the link you were unregistered.  I ask becasue you say Admin had no issue _ maybe as admin you are still registered.  ?  therefore the product can't be seen unless the customer is logged in?  just maybe.

i dont ask for registration and also "Only registered users can checkout" is not checked.

I only was logged in in the backend and not in the frontend. I tested it also after logging out in the backend...same result.
furthermore i use no account whatsoever in the frontend and checkout as a guest.

The one page checkout ? can you reset it to the core - setup - maybe the one page is picking up the fields from a different place. in the tables.  and test

There is no reset button, but i can try to uninstal it and then reinstall it?

But since these errors occurs since the update (same stabel version, but from a to c) i think that these errors must be somewhere in the new version of Virtuemart? These confirmation emails are done by Virtuemart, not the plugins and goes to the customers.

I am dutch and here in Holland it is 00.54 hrs. Late lol... so i look into it tomorrow. In the meantime i hope u can look in this on the Virtuemart part. Personally i think something went wrong with the update...me or the update itself.

edit: tomorrow i will add a new product also, test it and see what happens

here 9.00 am in the morning - there is a small issue with the emails at the moment - in the confirm and shipping - you can see some posts about it. see ya. at 4.00pm my time ha ha

I did a lot of work this morning. Complete fresh install of joomla 2.5.6 and Virtuemart 2.0.8c

new product added and did all configuration again.

Same problem as in my firts message in this topic.

I hope you can help me? Mail function as you suggested does not work properly.

b.t.w. if i install Virtuemart 2.0.8a again over the 2.0.8c via extention manager..can i do that?

Ok I'm not sure regarding the issue - in the first post - yes - you can just reinstall  a over c - do both   all of 2.0.8 a over 2.0.8c - see if it returns to the correct setting first.

I have downdated (my dutch way of saying: opposit of updated lol) Virtuemart back to 2.0.8a

Some problems are solved, some are not:

I have quoted my own message here below and you will find my findings in red after downdated VM back to 2.0.8.a:

Sorry this appears to me to be very similar to quite a few emails in regards to - the status of emails ( I too am having issues with the status of emails) - I'l waiting to see if the developers can see the issue. I have had some feedback there and they are finding it difficult to pinpoint in version 2.0.8 c the actual issue of emails - from pending , to confirmed .    In my emails when I I change from pending to shipping the vendor gets the wrong status update - .

Thanks for your reply. I ustand the problem. I will wait ofcourse and hope the VM team will find a solution.

Perheps if there are so many problems with the latest release, imho the VM team may consider to offer 2.0.8a as latest release and start developing from there? This as the 2.0.8a release works fine? But there is more...and i do understand this is a lot of work and a complicated issue as also 3rd party's are involved (in my case).

I use VM 2.0.8a now and wait for a new release of Virtuemart.

Hello Renata,
to get to the "core" VM checkout, just disable OPC plugin either at the OPC backend's first checkbox or at the Joomla plugin's manager (system - onepage).  It does not do any modifications into Virtuemart 2.0.8 (it did for lesser versions to fix found fatal errors on checkout when using radio boxes and similar).

I haven't tested cross compatiblity of digital product's component, but within OPC i'd recommend to disable "shipping" and "ship to" section in OPC backend.

I really would like to use OPC in combination with direct link to the checkout with one product added, and the download link . Do you have a special reason for advising me to disable OPC plugin?

I disabled shipping and ship to section in OPC backend according to your recommendation, but still no download link is added to the pdf invoice and confirmation mail. Only when i manually add a product to shopping cart a download link is added.
