Help with Calendar function

I am looking for a bit of help with using a calendar for my customers to choose a date for their event before being routed to the shopping cart. I have been trying to use the 'custom field' - 'custom field date', and then configuring my products accordingly. The issue I have been running into is once I do this, the page crashes when I go to the front end.

My end goal would to have a calendar picker where it pops up for the customer to choose the appropriate date of their event.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar problem. I would like to achieve that same result, and I can add a date as a custom field, but it doesn't let me choose the date on the front end, It just displays the date that I have set as default.
Can anyone please help with this? This is a pretty basic function for booking anything...
