inserting images into products (only 16)

I have a 2.5 site with vm2
when I go to my products and I want to assign an image, there are two buttons
-16 et +16
I click on it, appears a first set of image (16)
when I click again I have this message :
image'pas d'images' (picture'nopicture' in french

and this proves to be a bulleted list :
