Assign new user to specific Shopper Group

Is there anyway that I can do this:

A new customer fills in the "Create account" form
If a specific field contains a value or a selection has been made
    Save the new account tol a specific "Shopper group"
Else
    Save the new account to the "Default Shopper Group"
