Joomla 2.5.4/Joomla 2.0.4 User Groups

I am trying to set two distinct user groups.

Group 1: Vendors, vendors can sign up and post new products, edit products

Group 2: Buyers, Buyers are like the default User Group currently in Virtuemart.


I can't find where to set the user group for Vendors. It's listed in the User Manual but i can't find it.

yes it is there - this is a multi vendor option -

* the true multi vendor option has not been finalised in it's true sense.

* option one is that you the superuser can add people to the store with permission to upload lots of products - but only onne of them will receive the emails from the store.
* You want lots of sellers getting emails and selling from the one store - " the software is not there yet" -  You can set up a variety of permission to restrict access to certain parts of joomla.

* the buyers - well they don't need a group
