Problems with upgrade 2.0.0 -> 2.0.2

Joomla 1.7.3 / VM 2.0.0 -> 2.0.2

I had some problems using live update and extension manager to update to the 2.0.2 version so I uploaded the unzipped folder into /tmp and installed from there. This way it worked fine.

Problem was that:

1. Almost all (but not all) images were unpublished.. simple fix, I just republished the missing ones).

2. Big problem here: the categories page works fine, the flypage is gone except for a few fields.... http://devshop.bellussi.com/index.php/spumanti/valdobbiadene-docg-superiore-di-cartizze-vsqprd-detail PLease if anyone can help. otherwise I need to reinstall from backup.

UPDATE:

I checked around a bit and the upgrade also messed some other settings too, including the default templates.  The reason I lost my flypage template if that it somehow changed it by replacing the default template for the new one in the upgrade.  I'm using a VM template so it maybe a template issue rather than a VM template (answer to how to fix the problem).  However, FYI, the problems arose from the upgrade if this helps with fixing the next upgrade version.

The way I recommend to update is just to use the Joomla installer, as it updates the core files and updates the database but does not affect any data or files.

VM2.0.2 works best with Joomla 2.5.1 - Joomla 1.7 is now no longer supported.

There is no flypage in VM2. If you edited one of the view template files and did set it as a template override then it will be overwritten in any update, especially in this case as there are many differences to the product details view files.

Not so many differences. We use now more sublayouts, but when someone is overwriting the first file anyway, it makes no difference, the only difference for template makers is described here
