two columns view of PRODUCT PAGE

After a lot of hours passed by to override templates I have now the template file that is used by the system (html folder under the template folder). The override system is not getting errors.

What are the changes to have two columns in a product view? It should be a system setting to choose from. I cannot see a page with a unique columns when the page is in a normal device!!!

For mobile devices the single column is ok.
Any help?

Use flex and edit the override template view product detail.
Or is that the problem?
