Category issues - not showing like link from backend...

Hi, I have a weird issue.  If I use the frontend and go to the main shop link and go into the cateogories, when I get to the category where the actual  products are they do not display on the front end nor does the description.

However, if I click the link in the backend to show me what the frontend should look like it looks just like I expect it.

What gives?
