Again...thanks for your feedback

Yes to mince beef you go to the first categories page
is http://www.incahoot.info/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=virtuemart&productsublayout=0&showproducts=1&showcategory=1&Itemid=1167

Then you follow the link to Meats
http://www.incahoot.info/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id=16&Itemid=1167
Which takes you to the Beef category

Clicking on the beef category you see the mince beef category
http://www.incahoot.info/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id=32&Itemid=1167

Then clicking on that absolutely nothing shows, but there are two products set up under that caategory

Extra Lean Mince Beef
http://www.incahoot.info/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_product_id=1218&virtuemart_category_id=32&Itemid=1205
And Tender Mice BBeef
http://www.incahoot.info/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_product_id=1211&virtuemart_category_id=33&Itemid=1167

But I cant get them to show up under the categories, does the information in the URL's give you any clues why not that you could help me with?

GJC Web Design

if i go

http://www.incahoot.info/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&virtuemart_category_id=33

the two products are there

if -> http://www.incahoot.info/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id=33&Itemid=1167

nothing .. so it is your menu setup?

The selector "Show products" yes/no is inherited (wrongly I feel) to any sub cats under it .. so I assume on Beef you have 'no' set?

If this is necessary then try making hidden menus to the mince with the show prod set to yes

Hi thanks again for your advice

Can you tell me where it is I have Beef set to 'no' ? Do you mean somewhere in the Product or Category Settings in Virtuemart, once I know where you mean I can then change it and see if that sorts it

I also did not know I had any hidden menus, where would they be? and where would I set show product to "yes"?

Thanks again

GJC Web Design

no -- in your VM category menu you made for Beef

the idea for a hidden menu (used often and usefully in Joomla) is to try and solve the inherited param if that is the case
