There is something very screwy in the reviews

I've been unable to get the product rating to show up in my VM installation. I've tried everything. Really. Everything. I even switched to the Beez template (so please don't suggest that my template is the problem.)

I've been trying writing additional reviews to see if that gets the reviews to show up. It doesn't.  In fact, it just proved that the reviews are screwy! After writing a review, and then going into the backend here's what happened:

1. I click on virtuemart / products / reviews & ratings. The latest review is not listed.
2. I click on one of the other product reviews which are listed, one of which is listed twice.
3. The page now shows me that there are two reviews for this product (which is exactly what it showed me before I clicked). My new review is not there.
4. I click on one of those reviews. Then I click back. Now all three reviews show up.
5. I click on the newest review, which had a "0" Star rating. I change it to 5 stars. I click Apply. I click Save.
6. The page of reviews shows that the review gives the product a 3 star rating. Huh??? So I go back in and see it shows 5 stars. I save again.
7. The page of reviews now shows that the review gives the product a 4 star rating? Huh??? So I go back in and see it still shows 5 stars. I save again.
8. It still shows as a 4 star rating.

This feature is very broken on my install. I still can't get the rating to show up on the product page.

I see problems with the review system also.
I use Joomla 3.4.3 and VirtueMart 3.0.8.
When a new review is added I don't see it in the backend on the [Products] > [Reviews & Ratings] page.
I can only publish the review through [Products] > [Products] > "search for product" with new review and click on the number beneath the "Shopper Reviews" column. And publish the review.
After doing this the review is published in the frontend but isn't visible in the backend on the [Products] > [Reviews & Ratings] page.
Also deleting is unpossible. I can only unpublish the review through the number beneath the "Shopper Reviews" column.

First rule when you have a problem is to update to the latest release version and test with that.  Latest release version is 3.0.9.6 and a further update will be released soon.  http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files
