sort virtuemart products by custom field

Hello i have a site using virtuemart 2.6.6 and joomla 2.5 and i want to make the virtuemart products to be sorted by custom fields too. Can anyone suggest me any solution to this?

Thank you very much for your suggestion but this is not what i was looking for, i want in category view to be able to sort my products by customfields like i can now to sort them by price ASC OR DESC Name etc
