Add new field to "Ask a Question" Pop-up form

Hi.

I have read diverse threads here and there about adding extra fields to the "Ask a Question" pop-up form in VirtueMart. None of them works in V 3.

Someone can tell me the way to add a phone field to this form?

This need a core hack.
No one give an answer, becuase on doing this, next release the patch have to be readded.

The theory :
Add the field in the form. for eg.

<input type="text" name="phone">
Joins the fields before mailing.

If you really need it, I can do it as a joomla plugin or perhaps the current dev team add it a day?
