"Add to cart"-button not working, modal popup also, cant update VM

My problem:
After not visiting my VM-site for a while I noticed the following:
- Not able to add products to cart
- Not able to update VM to newer version (Nor Extension Manager or FTP worksm calls for "session timeout" of some kind)

Problemsearch:
Trough Firebug i get the following errors:
SCRIPT1004: Expected ";"
SCRIPT5009; 'usefancy' is undefined
Note: fancybox is NOT marked in the settings of VM-> Temaplates

Thoughts:
A search for "usefancy is undefined" made me think that the host not has "mod_rewrite" enabled on the server.
I'm waiting on answer from host at the moment.

Question:
Is this in anyway "right thinking" or is there anything else I have missed?

Your basic problem is this

Not able to update VM to newer version (Nor Extension Manager or FTP worksm calls for "session timeout" of some kind)

You need to update and if your timing out (did you ftp e.g. the com_virtuemart.2.6.8.zip to a folder under tmp and try installing from there?)
If it won't then your host will need to help you

After that you can look at the other problems

(I assume usefancy is related to the facebox/fancybox choice for the images in product details - but who knows till you get 2.6.8 installed)
Assume your doing this on a clone of the site?
