Wrong shipping calculation after altering the cart/product list

Details: VM 2.0.26D Joomla 2.5.18 php 5.3.26  IE 10  Dutch language, template Yootheme; no template override.
Is migrated site from joomla 1.5 and VM 1.19

We have shipping methods divided upon weight (default plugin) so 0-20 gram, 20-50 gram etc. Alle weights ar in KG (product, configuration and shipping method). The shipping has a minimum of 2.50 euro and valid to a country (Netherlands)

Problem; after selection a product and going to the cart and registering (or giving the invoice adres e.g. selection the country)  the shipping method is calculated. But when adding more producs (so adding the weight) the shipping method stays the same although the boundary (min -max weight per shipping method) is passed.
I have looked throug a bunch of fora but cannot figure it out.

When setting the debug option, al i get is: vmdebug checkConditions VM - Shipment, By weight, ZIP and countries does not fit
I dont see any fit for a method  in the debug list but a shipping method is selected....

So anybody an idea for my ongoing investigation?

IN my case the database table was not correct. When you looked in VM it looked ok but the grammage in de database tabel was stored differently. I manually corrected that and the problem was over.
