VM changes configuration settings by itself

This is quite annoying. Now and then VM suddenly decides to change its settings by itself.

It seems that it goes to some sort of default settings. We have to make the changes in the configuration over and over again, and we never know when it will change next time.

The settings in question: Product Order and Display Stock Level. (It used to be Show Top ten products, Show recent, Show latest products and Shopper Review/Rating System also, but after upgrading VM it seems to be okay now.)

Product Order changes frequently. The system one day chose to display stock level although the checkbox was unchecked. I don't have a clue why that happened, I had to change the template to stop it.

So for now my big concern is the Product Order. Why is this happening and how do I make the settings stay in the VM Configuration?
