add to cart not working on frontend

Joomla - 2.5.14 / VirtueMart - 2.0.24 / PHP - 5.3.27

The add-to-cart button works fine in the category page but not in the frontend - when clinking the button it goes to the cart but does not get the product - it shows the cart as empty.

How can I fix this?

Hi all

I have TRIED to read all the articles here regarding this issue... including the SEO issues and the 'ShowCart' button, though am still finding my "add 2 cart" buttons on the front page (within the Featured Products module) are not functioning correctly.

Clicking the 'add2cart' button loops back to the 'index' page... though oddly the VM menu is now displaying wide open... with all levels displayed. Clicking the home button repairs the menu... though does not resolve the 'add2cart' button misfiring

Any advance on the 'bug'??
