Thumbnail link redirect

Hi There

On category page clicking on the product thumbnail results in having the image enlarged. When the customer finds interesting product and want to go to the product page they normally click on the thumbnail and not on the link description of the item. Of course this takes them just to the enlarged picture and they have to go back and look for the link to the product page again. Is it possible to direct the thumbnail link to the product page instead to enlarging the picture and how to do it?

I guess that the template was designed for an older version of VirtueMart so does not have the current functions within its template overrides.
