Is this possible that the new virtuemart can be used for the classifieds. I want to develop a site in which users can register and post ads of their products which they want to sell also the admin can add products to sell. Thanks in advance :)

No. That form of multi-vendor capability is not currently available in VirtueMart.

In fact extensions.virtuemart.net is already running multivendor. But not all types of multivendor are running out of the box. For example, atm users cannot directly register as vendor. The frontend user editing works, but only with superadmin, we miss atm the joomla ACL. Or you can already create shipment, payment, categories and taxes and so on per vendor, but we do not have carts per vendor yet. You may write the missing pieces and contribute it.

Hi danishfayaz,

I´m also from Denmark so I´m not sure if I should reply in Danish or English, but for the sake of others who might be interested ill go ahead in English :)

I´ve also been looking for the best Joomla-based classified ads system and I think the best solution is to go for a specifically developed component.
Using Virtuemart will require to many modifications.

Check out the component "DJ-Classifieds" http://dj-extensions.com/dj-classifieds
It seems to have all the features you would want for a classifieds website. I haven´t tried it myself yet, though.

Why do you think that? The administrated mode works already. VM2 is maybe missing for this 5%
