Cart and checkout are timing out

Hello,

I'm new to virtualmart so don't know so much about it. But i have bought a template with had a virtualmart installed. First i used it only as catalog but now i want to use it as a store.
Everything is working fine except the checking out part, so its pretty important :-).

When i've added a product to my cart and go to the shopping cart i can see the product is in there, so far so good. But when i try to add an address or other order information the page times out (The connection has timed out). The same goes for when i want check out or choice a payment or shipping method.

I have the latest version of VM2 installed and I'm running joomla 2.5.11 (also have admintools installed)

Does anyone has an idea?

have you tested this without a template override?
