Minimum purchase quantity on product and children for Wholesale site

Hoping someone can help me with this.

I am trying to set up minimum quantity on a on a wholesale clothing site but not sure if its possible to get it to work as required.

Customers need to buy a minimum purchase quantity of a specific product or its children. E.g. the minimum quantity may be 6 and a customer could make this six up by buying 2xM size, 4xL size. 

Have tried various child product options but they all only allow the user to select one option at a time (via drop down etc) before hitting add to basket which of course means if they are picking less than the minimum order quantity it tells them they can not do it.

Basically I would like to show each available size on the product view with a box next them allowing the customer to enter how many of each size they require before hitting the add to basket button and then it should check whether this meets the minimum required for the product.

Is this possible?
