Product Search only searching within categories

Merry Xmas everyone.
Joomla 2.5.8   PHP 5.2.17   Vmart 2.0.14
Ive just done some upgrades and the Product Search now only searches within the category that you are in, instead of all categories like it use to.
Ive spent hours trying to find an answer, so if anyone could help it would be appreciated.

I think that the sql query is generated in the file: administrator\components\com_virtuemart\models\product.php
and the function:sortSearchListQuery

So look into that code for solution

Did you try turning off "Search Filter Categories"? Set it to "no" in the module settings.
