Is there a way to enable other companies to submit their products into VM?

We are looking for a solution where a registered user is allowed to submit a new product, with all details needed. Is this possible? Any third party solution?

This is not possible at the moment with the current Administrated Multi-vendor setup. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=107588.0

I'd guess that this will become available as a third party addon to VM 2.2 but as described in the link above, it is not at all easy to cover all possible requirements.
