TCPDF overloading the server?

It seems that TCPDF is overloading the server and therefor the host is closing down my website. TCPDF is caching alot of files. Right now it is about 200.000 files in the cache folder. All this have happened in five days(!). Why is it doing this? And how do I stop it from doing it?

The files have names like this: mskp_4acf25b98f7f3483e2055a8114e5f54d and this: mska_bfbbccea27c86a0de9447e24fd76e9ce.

I use Joomla 2.5.6 and VirtueMart 2.0.12f.

hm, strange. TCPDF does not run with cron services, so may be spam you, did you check it?

Hi
I have 2 client sites that have been turned off at various times recently for using too many ressources. The only thing both sites have in common is Joomla and virtuemart.

According to the hoster, because everything runs over index.php it's hard to identify the specific culprit, but it only occurs when virtuemart pages are called. One site has used up to 25% of all ressources available on the server, which is way to much for a single site.

What is interesting, on the one site I have the latest stuff: Joomla 2.5.7, Virtuemart 2.0.12; on the other it's Joomla 1.5.26 and Virtuemart 1.1.8. Both have php 5.3.18 and mysql 5.1.65-cll

This has only started to occur in the last few weeks. Possibly - but not currently confirmed - since the upgrade of the php version on the server.

Obviously this is a serious problem - customers don't like having their shops closed down.

Any ideas? I'm sure my hoster is happy to help if he can.

My guess is that the J1.5 is not too good with that PHP version. You may want to check the PHP error log files, maybe turning up the level of error reporting for a while.

Well it may be. Interesting is that it's only the site using virtuemart. I have other sites withh Joomla 1.5 and PHP 5.3  as well as sites with Joomla 2.5 and PHP 5.3 with the same hoster and no problems there. Only these two which have Virtuemart in common, albeit different versions. I will however turn up the logging to see what can be seen.

Thanks for the input.
