Assigning a custom field automatically for all products

Hi fellow virtuemart fans,

I am trying to work around a specific aspect of virtuemart but unable to find a suitable solution; thus seeking help from this forum.
I couldn't find any relevant solution in the forum as well.

Can I create a custom field and make the following happen?

• It should be automatically assigned to all existing products
• It should also be added automatically to any new product introduced

I found some response saying CSVI can help do this but I am not sure how since I had already tried CSVI.
Any help/hint will be  appreciated.
