Order saved and Confirm Email BEFORE payment

I think this question goes here.

I'm using a Dutch payment gateway plugin, called Multisafepay. But this isn't their flaw as they don't alter these things..

Whenever a user clicks "checkout", the order gets saved in the admin and a confirmation e-mail is send by Virtuemart to the user and me (the merchant).
However, at that time the user is just coming into the payment screen to select his desired payment method. So the user didn't pay yet, but we are both (user and me) getting confirmation e-mail.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I guess this is a common problem, also with Paypal.
