Shop is offline is checked but message does not appear

Hello guys!

I installed joomla 2.5 and then virtuemart latest version so as to start building an e-commerce website but when I check then shop is offline option message does not appear at the first page of my site.Like it seems my joomla site is not "connected" with the virtuemart extension.Any idea what can i do? I am kinda new to virtuemart and the manual doest not help me much on this

should work - you should see : Our Shop is currently down for maintenance. Please check back again soon.

if you are having real concerns - maybe go to joomla and tick their option "global configuration and turn off the site there>

cryptorider try going to the site using a different PC or browser - maybe you have a session/cache issue?
