Front Page/Home Page view customize

Hi All!

Firstly, sorry for my bad english. 

-I want to customize the vm 2 front page but i dont know where is it?
-How can i get 4 products from categries - i want to show the product categories and every category after 4 products from this cat.

Can anybody help mi?

I found the tmp file, but how can i get 4 products from all categories?
