Hi all, I am new in virtuemart. Currently I am using Joomla 2.5.2 and Virtuemart 2.02 to create an e-commerce website.  Because we will only sell to verified customers, is there any way to modify the payment process in virtuemart or joomla as below:

1.   See the product details via the website (excluding price )
2.   If customer would like to see the price and purchase, they need to register first
3.   After registration,  our customer service person will verify customer details manually and then send customer a verified link or verified code / confirmation email ect...
4.   Customer log in his/her account to purchase products.

I would appreciate it if you could give me any suggestions.

Many thanks

teksun

Set your Joomla registration settings to be verified or approved by admin. Like I come to your site then register. I get an email to verify my e-mail. My account is not actually activated until an admin approves it. Although I have not tried it yet you could also use groups if I'm not mistaken.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am quite new for virtuemart 2.0.2 and joomla 2.5.2 and I don't know where I can change the registration settings to ve verified by admin. Is that possible to let me know it?

You can set admin approval in J2.5.2's User Manager / Options - although there is a suggestion from the Joomla Bug Squad that it may be buggy. I have not tried it as I do not require confirmation of registration.

Thank you, it is working. But I have the other problem. Is that possible to set content editor approval in joomla not the administrator? Because there is a non-techinical guy will be in charge of approval. Hope he can not change any other things in Joomla except product price, image, description and these approval. Many thanks

There is no simple option for that in Joomla - and it is a Joomla issue, not a VirtueMart problem.

It may be possible if you set the editor to receive System emails and give them the right permissions in Joomlas ACL permissions settings. You will have to play with the settings I think.

I am trying to create a new user group which is only allowed to see the category, product and user manager. But I am not a good player and did not figure it out :(. Is that possible to give me a hand? Thank you very much
